Sunderland fans – Who should replace Keane?

I’ll admit, I still haven’t quite gotten used to the news that Roy Keane has left Sunderland – though I think you saw the potential of what the Black Cats can still become at Old Trafford and may have been being held back under Keane.

Our resident expert Sunderland supporter Dava McCamm wrote a great piece on Keane leaving, and what he did for the club and how he left it. I highly recommend giving it a read.

Now, with Premiership safety becoming an issue, it’s time to think about who can replace Keane and get the Black Cats back up the table — where I thought they’d be all along.

There are plenty of names being tossed around — Big Sam Allardyce, Phil Brown, Steve McClaren and even Sven-Goran Erikson — but it’s hard to say who it could be.

Peter Reid has already taken his name out of the running for a return run and Alan Curbishley has also played down any interest.

So it’s time to ask you, Sunderland fans – who do you think should come in and take over this team and drive them to safety?
